“The Incredible Invasion of the 20,000 Giant Robots from Outer Space” was produced in 2000 by 3-D Revolution Production's Elmer Kaan and Alexander Lentjes.
The theme of the animation is 1950s Hollywood Sci-Fi Cultfilm, also known as ‘Badfilm’. This is a genre of film that was produced extremely fast and cheap, and with its weird storylines, cardboard settings and flat characters makes for a very loveable look and feel. This look and feel is what “The Incredible Invasion of the 20,000 Giant Robots from Outer Space” is trying to celebrate and honor. Just look at the title alone!

]]>There are a lot of cities in the world that offer contrast-- New York, London, Paris, Vegas or Tokyo for example are all exciting and multi-faceted cities in their own ways.
Of all the exotic cities in the world, Bangkok seems to take the prize. At its heart, the city is a mixture of opposites: There's the mix of East and West, the traditional with the modern and the city with the country.
If you were to mention Bangkok to five people who have been here and ask them to say the first thing that comes to mind in relation to the city, you would undoubtedly get five different answers.
They might talk about the vibrant nightlife. Perhaps they would mention the fantastic and diverse types of food. Perhaps they would talk about the unique culture and heritage that the city has... or if they are anything like me, they might mention the excellent golf courses.
Bangkok really does have it all.

Our team (3DGuy.tv) recently flew to Moscow and trained its 3D cameras on sights old and new in the Russian capital. Among the monuments from the Communist era are Stalin's Seven Sisters, the neo-classical skyscrapers built in the 1950s and situated throughout the city. They offer superb contrast with the multi-colored, onion-shaped domes of St. Basil's cathedral built by an earlier Russian leader, Ivan the Terrible, in the 16th century. Our 3D tour completes its trip with a journey on the Moscow River, a view of the Spassky Tower Festival of military bands on Red Square, a sampling of Moscow nightlife, and the annual reenactment of the Battle of Borodino, Napoleon's costly battlefield victory that made his strategic defeat inevitable.

]]>A collection of stereoscopic images of New York City from stereo photographer Tim Farrell, this set offers a unique perspective on the urban environment highlighting the architecture and infrastructure of one of the world's greatest cities.
With an eye for the uncommon vision of the common sights of New York, Mr. Farrell exposes it's immensity as well as a ruggedness that has developed over several centuries of constant activity. As an environment of boundless dichotomy, New York is the perfect subject for stereoscopic photography. The element of depth is used to contrast the immensity of the structure of the city with the small details that combine to produce the whole.
The images in this set have been specifically formatted for use as desktop backgrounds or to be cycled as a screen saver.

As their quest unfolds, the audience is plunged beneath the surface of things, to explore the magic of Tahiti, the life of the reef and the hidden forces at work shaping ocean waves and the islands that lie in their path.
]]>Silhouetted figures caper about in a fantastical landscape of ladders, cogs, windmills, grids, and mechanical clouds!

]]>Derelict homesteads and barns haunt the open fields and overgrown farms in this photo series taken in the Plains of Washington State, USA. Sun-bleached and long abandoned by humanity, these vacant buildings are now home only to the animals that take shelter within, and the stories of those who once inhabited them.
]]>Washington State is one of the most stunning places in North America, as shown by this small glimpse at some of the parks in the Spokane area.
These images, shot at the first whisper of autumn, shows the beauty of nature as trees start to don their fall finery: clad in red and gold, the trees' foliage stands in stark contrast to the late season greenery, reflected in the mirror-like pools nearby.
Lush countrysides are captured in all of their resplendent glory in this new set by Harvey Floyd Jewett. The rich, earth browns of field and road are juxtaposed against roiling blues and greys as stormclouds sweep across the skies.

]]>In this landscape series, the photographer has captured moments of wonder and beauty that may normally be overlooked in life's daily rush. The richness of California's wild spaces and open skies captivates the viewer, and gives us a chance to see the state through the eyes of one who cherishes it. Wide baselines offer a pleasantly exaggerated depth to the collection.
]]>Few tourists will get to see the New York City that Tim Farrell is able to capture with his lens. In rarely-traveled areas of the city, carnival horses dance along iron grates near graveyards full of broken appliances and rusted machinery. Life takes hold anew in the plants and flowers that spring up between cracks and are nurtured in recycled jars, and the wild reclaims abandoned buildings.
]]>The industrial face of New York is the one in focus in this set of images: extremely rich in texture, with a focus on grates, corrugated metal, ironwork, girders and bridges. Shades of sepia, patinated copper, and the varying greys found in the concrete play against the tones of aluminum, slate, stone, and iron that holds up this incredible city.
]]>A collection of stereoscopic images of New York City from stereo photographer Tim Farrell, this set offers a unique perspective on the urban environment, highlighting unique scenes that are slightly off the beaten path.
In these three sets, Mr. Farrell takes us beyond the sights commonly associated with one of the greatest cities of the world. With a unique eye that captures both the grand and the grundge, these photos celebrate the beauty that exists throughout the city but is unseen by a kinetic crowd.
]]>A Malaysian leaf frog camouflages perfectly in the detritus of the jungle floor as a red tailed boa climbs a nearby tree. See the vivid orange and black markings of the Mandarin crocodile newt, and the yellow-black patterns that gave the leopard gecko its name. You'll see a Weidersheim chameleon up close, and witness a new life emerge as a baby king snake hatches from its egg.
]]>A trip beneath the waves of Curacao reveals a world as colourful as that on land: a bright orange frog fish gapes out from a craggy precipice, while an intimidating caribbean spiny lobster defends its territory. Cardinalfish and drumfish are flashes of brightness against dusky corals. An intense blue curacao queen angelfish holds court alongside a lovely princess parrotfish, as a purple cleaning shrimp tidies around its home in a rocky crevice.
]]>Cozumel, "Island of the Sparrows" to the Maya, is a world renowned destination for snorkeling and scuba diving, and with the images in this set, we can see why: Flaming coral troutfish and indigo fairy basslets are bursts of startling colour against the encrusted stone outcroppings. Queen angelfish hold court with spiney lobsters and stingrays, and bigeye fish live up to their moniker.
]]>This year Nuit de la Glisse is exploring a new dimension, depth. Three-dimensional space has finally arrived to enhance the adventure, taking our audience deeper into the action and allowing them to share the riders' sensations.
Over the last two years, the Nuit de la Glisse team has endeavoured to incorporate 3D technology into their extreme film shoots. This has required developing a whole new camera and acquiring new techniques for Thierry Donard and his team of cameramen, editors and producers.
Faced with a European winter with scarcely any snow, the team had to gamble, setting off in search of the white gold in one of the most isolated places on the planet: the far west of Greenland. "Faces of over 2500ft vertical drop, glaciers as far as the eye can see, surrounded by awe-inspiring mountains, an environment spared of any human presence, volatile weather conditions, that's where we found the focus of our search," recounts Thierry Donard.
Isolated for several days while navigating through the icebergs, the shoot encapsulated the daily challenges of trying to blend ultra-modern cinematographic techniques with hazardous conditions. The trailer, presented to the Congrès des Exploitants du Cinéma at the Festival de Cannes was met with admiration from 3D cinema professionals.
Alongside this shoot, Nuit de la Glisse 2011 will showcase many other 3D sequences such as downhill mountain biking from the Lapierre Team in Chamonix, street skateboarding in Annecy from Joris Brichet, wingsuiting and speed riding through the Mont Blanc massif from the best that this world has to offer and big wave surfing from Garrett McNamara eyeing up the biggest wave ever surfed in Portugal.
To mark this 3D technological revolution and to transport the audience from the past into the future, this latest edition will recap on the most amazing moments of the last ten years. The first 30 minutes of the film are a dedication to 20 hours of archives that celebrates the best of the Nuit de la Glisse action before diving into a new era of extreme sports.
From now on, the audience will reside at the heart of the action, sharing the sensations felt by the best extreme sports athletes in the world through 3D technology.

]]>'Train of Shadows' is a black and white 3D stereoscopic short film that uses a more subtle (lyrical) application of contemporary 3D Real-D technology to present a counter-aesthetic to the dominant 3D emphasis on spectacle associated with the recent productions of the high-budget film industry. Through an unfolding non-linear narrative centered on a train’s journey through a landscape of a character’s lost memories, the film explores a set of themes dealing with temporality, which are theoretically, dramatically, and formally inflected: the virtuality of memory, loss and renewal, the constitution of subjectivity in time, and the narrative imperatives of that subjectivity.

]]>Wat Po, or as generally known to the Thais as Wat Phra Chetuphon, is famous for its enormous Reclining Buddha statue. It is the largest Wat in Bangkok, and is technically the oldest too, as it was built around 200 years before Bangkok became Thailand's capital.
As old as it is, the Wat today bears no resemblance to that which was originally constructed, as it was almost entirely rebuilt by Rama I when the capital was moved to Bangkok.
The highly impressive gold plated reclining Buddha is 46 meters long and 15 meters high, and is designed to illustrate the passing of the Buddha into nirvana. Its feet and eyes are engraved with mother-of-pearl decorations, and its feet also show the 108 auspicious characteristics of the true Buddha.

The event includes spectacular demonstrations of elephant capture; the daily life of elephants and their masters; elephants being trained, worked and fed; examples of elephant riding and an ancient war re-enactment, and elephants dressed up for tourists to photograph.

Decipher the secret code and download the song for free at www.thelastdancers.com Black Iron Publishing. Alone Records/Kromatic Musik (Spain/Netherlands)

Reeling with passion, rock freedom and exquisite lyricism that hovers over bright guitars and harmonies, the songs stand up to those on records made by The Faces, The Kinks and Big Star. Unlike any modern band, these 13 tracks written by Adam Mackintosh and produced by Dano Capristo in Portland, Oregon will leave you whispering to your fellow audiophiles and wanting more. -The Black Apple, PDX

Looking through the window of a train, imagining all that happens outside, following the rhythm, and then choosing not to. Asking ourselves whether we want, or if we can, still change roads."
